Community Support
UWAMOV supports your community by funding 40 health and human service agencies that provide programs and services to local individuals and families in need of assistance, serving over 200,000 people last year throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley. The following counties are served: Calhoun, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Tyler, Wirt, and Wood Counties in West Virginia, and Washington and Athens Counties in Ohio.
Members of communities in these areas are served by the agencies linked above, and may seek help through the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. Congress appropriates funds to supplement and expand emergency food and shelter programs. Wood County is awarded funds based on the total number of unemployed in our jurisdiction.
